Cover Me, Lord
We cannot stand on our own. Everything formed by human hands will perish,
and all the plans we make apart from God's will for us will come to nothing.
What a comfort to know that even when we have turned away from God, when we lie
in the ashes of our own dreams, we can ask and He will cover us with mercy,
grace, forgiveness, blessings, second chances, love, joy, peace - well, you get
the idea. This song began as a praise chorus in Crosspoint, the Sunday evening
worship service at University United Methodist Church, and developed into its
present form thanks to a suggestion from Stacy Young that "it needs a verse".
