The Truth
The story on this tune is a testimony to the devil's constant attempts to
derail the message: in choosing the tunes for this first project, we asked
specific people to pray about the list of songs we were considering, and tell us
whether
they got any particular impressions from our titles or felt anything just had
to be
on the project. The one tune everybody was repeatedly drawn back to
was "The Truth", although none of them had ever heard it. I spent hours on the
demo track I was sending to Brian, and when I finished it, I didn't like it! I
told my wife Betsy, that I was afraid it was too wordy and preachy. She asked me
what tune would replace this one, and the next song on the list was my personal
favorite. Betsy listened to the demo, we prayed, looked at each other and agreed
that we'd just dodged a spiritual bullet! The song stayed. I hope you like it.
